[Devlog] QoL and Bug Fixes (0.0.9)

We've had a really exciting weekend with a whole load of new players fighting to dethrone the Fool King. We've seen the meta shift from super archers to mega wizards and for a brief stint some really chunky knights entered the fray and shook things up a bit. Its been really fun to watch!
With the influx of players we've also had a bunch of requests, bug reports and feedback. We're furiously writing it all down and prioritising it against our current backlog so there is a lot to be done and can't wait to share it with you all!
For now, this is a smaller update with some much needed bug fixes and QoL improvements! More coming soon!
Quality of Life Improvements
- Ultrawide Monitor Popup - New pop up for users with ultrawide monitors prompting them to press F12 to force windowed 2560x1440 (we will add proper support in future we promise!).
- Cheat prevention - We've had our first cheater and have put several checks to stop future abuse. Sorry to those who had to face those ghosts.
- Dice Rolling Physics - Increased dice rolling torque and force to reduce chance of dice landing on the same face
- Displaying the dice faces
- During the roll phase, when you hover over the loadout results, dice faces tool tip will now display. It also highlights the face the dice settled on.
- During the placement phase, when you hover over the loadout results, you will see the unit info tool tip instead.
- In the progression and shop screen you can now see the dice faces tooltip when you hover over a dice in your loadout.
- When you hover over the dice face upgrade in the shop it will show the dice face tooltip for the currently selected dice. It shows the current values, not the effect of the upgrade.
- There is a small chance that a Fool King will be dethroned during your run, a check is now done before fighting the Fool King to ensure that players fight the very latest Fool King
Version Bug Fixes
- Fixed broken link to Loot Donkey site (Thanks Miltage)
- Fixed progression save file corruption (Thanks @ThatGuyJake)
- Tooltips
- Fixed catapult tooltip portrait
- Fixed shield goblin tooltip not showing (Thanks @Killnova_Collapse)
- Stopped dice face tooltip from going off the edge of the screen
- Units are now less likely to fall through the river geometry and become unreachable to unit attacks (Thanks again @ThatGuyJake)
We have two issues that are rare and hard to replicate and have a added a work around to resolve the issue. If you run the game and aren't able to start a new run you may be experiencing this issue. The two reported cases show the UI not loading correctly as shown below.
If this has happened to you try the following steps to resolve the issue. Try the next step on the list if the issue hasn't been resolve.
- Restart the game and try again
- Open the settings menu from the main menu and hold P for 5 seconds, this will trigger a restart and then try run the game as normal.
- Open the settings menu from the main menu and press "delete all data". This will reset the game back to default and restart it.

Balance Changes
- Starting loadout
- Reduced archer max to 6 (3,3,4,4,6,6)
- Increased shield goblin min to 2 (2,2,3,3,3,4)
- Shield Goblin
- Reduce "hunker down" time to 0.5s (from 1s)
